Gibraltar Nightlife

During the day Gibraltar's Main Street and Grand Casemates Square enjoy a bustling lively atmosphere, but when the sun sets over the Rock, Gibraltar nightlife swings into action. With its small size and central commercial district conveniently located close to the main hotels and holiday apartments, Gibraltar is easy to get around without the need for a car or the expense of hiring a taxi, making it a pleasure for visitors to enjoy the vibrant Gibraltar nightlife.

Although Main Street stays lively well into the night with many cafes, bars and shops remaining open until late, the nightlife scene tends to move one street over into the popular Irish Town which has a great buzz and plenty of opportunities to enjoy the ‘craic'. At the end, or beginning of Main Street, depending on which way you look at it is Grand Casemates Square which is great for a bit of a bar crawl, especially if you can drink your way around the square back to where you started and still remain standing 🙂

From the Square and Irish Town it's just a short walk to Gibraltar's other popular nightspot, the fantastic Ocean Village Marina and promenade that is lined with lively entertainment venues, cafes, restaurants and two casinos, one located on the stunning superyacht hotel, Sunborn. A bit of a longer walk or short taxi journey will take nighttime revellers to the harbour area and popular Queensway Quay where there is a further choice of entertainment venues, although not as raucous and a great choice for a more relaxed evening out.

Visitors looking to rave every night should bear in mind, Gibraltar is nothing like Ibiza or Benidorm where the choice of nightclubs is huge, but more a place where revellers enjoy their evenings in the sports bars and live music venues before heading to one of two nightclubs.

Often referred to as Britain in the sun, Gibraltar does offer a ‘home away from home' feel for many visitors who return year after year to enjoy fun in the sun, while still still being able to get a taste of home such as the drink and food options offered in the many Gibraltar bars.
