Due to its tiny size and dense population there are no actual camp sites in Gibraltar, but for visitors wishing to enjoy nights under the stars, just across the border in La Línea de la Concepción is Camping Sureuropa. Throughout Spain, what's commonly referred to as ‘wild camping' is possible, usually on areas of public waste ground or secluded seaside spots. This is also the case on the waste ground just across the border from Gibraltar where at any given time during the summer months you can see up to 20 camper vans and motor homes enjoying free accommodation, not exactly wild but fine for a few days while exploring Gibraltar.
Located just 200 metres from the beach on Travesía Sobrevela, just off Calle Canarias that runs parallel to the beach, Camping Sureuropa has been established since 2004 and was created with the aim of promoting integration of people with disabilities. The majority of staff are members of Asansull (Association for Persons Socio-Educational Needs Special) who keep the grounds and buildings in immaculate condition and are extremely helpful with their guests needs, whether disabled or not.
