Santa María Polo Club

Situated on the banks of the Rio Guadiaro River and forming part of the huge and prestigious Sotogrande Residential & Leisure Estate, Santa María Polo Club is recognised as one of the world's foremost polo clubs. Santa María is the largest of four polo clubs within the Sotogrande Estate, boasts 9 playing fields and holds as many as 25 tournaments each year, welcoming up to 220 teams, 800 players and a staggering 2,500 horses each summer season. Holidaymakers staying in Gibraltar who wish to see how the ‘other half' live should certainly pay a visit to the Sotogrande Estate where the sports, leisure and entertainment options are beyond belief.

Playing Fields – The 9 playing fields at Santa María Polo Club comprise Los Pinos which are the club's four main fields and venue for their international polo tournament and spring polo season. The two Rio Sotogrande fields receive the medium gold level in the international polo tournament, and the three Puente de Hierro fields are used for practice and the low goal international polo tournament.

Pavilion – Located in Los Pinos, the 2,500 square metre Pavilion is the club's headquarters. Built over two levels, the pavilion has seating for 800 spectators on the ground level and 480 VIP spectators on the upper level including 8 VIP boxes with private balconies. There are also outdoor viewing stands and a grandstand, also boasting separate VIP terraces.

Marquee – Located between fields 2 and 3 at Los Pintos, the marquee is ideal for a wide variety of events and functions and is fully equipped to accommodate up to 520 diners as well as having large gardens and parking.

Shopping Village – The leisure and entertainment facilities at Santa María Polo Club are excellent and provide fun for all ages throughout the day and evening. Shopping Village sets up around 17 tent stalls outside the pavilion and is similar to a small upmarket flea market where visitors can browse some fantastic goods and promotional products.

Bars & Restaurants – There are a choice of bars inside and outside the pavilion where the finest imported drinks, wines, champagne and classic cocktails can be enjoyed, not forgetting the essential Pimm's Punch. Mara Restaurant offers seating inside the pavilion as well as on the outdoor terrace and boasts a mouthwatering choice of local and international cuisine, the speciality being fresh fish and seafood. Enjoy an ice cold 1925 Reserve Alhambra beer while listening to top DJ's and live bands in the Alhambra Gastro Garden where the choice of cuisine includes fresh sushi, thin cuts of Guijuelo ham and pizzas by O'MammaMia.

Kids Zone – Adults can enjoy watching the polo matches and delights of the restaurants and bars safe in the knowledge their young ones are well looked after in the exciting Kids Zone. Supervised by a team of trained monitors, kids can have fun on a choice of bouncy castles, pedal go-karts, climbing wall and thrilling zip wire.
