Gibraltar has a rich maritime history, boasting several marinas and a large harbour and ferry port where visitors wishing to live the high life, on the high seas can arrange a yacht charter. Throughout Gibraltar, Algeciras and Tarifa water based sports and activities feature highly and there really is something for everyone. Snorkelling and scuba diving can be practised all around the Rock, where there are an abundance of rocky coves and popular dive sites, although some require a boat or kayak to reach. There are also a number of whale and dolphin tours, and nearby Tarifa is recognised as one of the best destinations in the world for wind sports.

With superb wind conditions provided by the two dominant winds that blow through the Strait of Gibraltar, Levante and Poniente, yachting and sailing are a very popular pastime, evident in the beautiful watercraft that grace Gibraltar's harbour and marinas. Yacht clubs abound in Gibraltar, the most well known and long established being the Royal Gibraltar Yacht Club founded way back in 1829 and still proudly welcoming members to this day. Another famous place for sailing is the nearby Sotogrande Residential & Leisure Resort that boasts its own exclusive marina several golf courses, equestrian centres and polo clubs.
Based in the luxurious Ocean Village Marina and recognised by the UK Royal Yachting Association and UK Maritime & Coastguard Agency, the well established Allaboard Sailing Academy offer yacht charter as well as an excellent selection of sailing, motor and powerboat training courses. Allaboard are the only MCA accredited RYA sailing school in Gibraltar and not only do they train members of the public, they are also responsible for training the Gibraltar Maritime Customs, Maritime Police and Gibraltar Port Authorities, so you can rest assured that whether looking to complete a sailing course or arrange yacht charter, you're in good hands.
Yacht Charter Itinerary & Facilities
Allaboard Sailing Academy boast five identical 2016 model Jeanneau 389 cabin yachts, fully equipped with the latest state of the art technology in their spacious cockpits. Each yacht has a comfortable saloon situated next to the galley that is equipped with a large fridge, hob, oven double sink and ample storage. The two aft cabins and forward cabin are airy and spacious with good head height and comfortable beds.
- All charters are for 6 days and 7 nights throughout the year
- Berthing fees, fuel, flights, food and drink are not provided
- All relevant yacht equipment is provided
- Bedding, kitchen utensils, tea and coffee are provided
- Self charter requires a minimum qualification of Day Skipper
- At least one member of your group is required to have VHF Radio Certification
- Qualified skippers are available for a fee of £500 per week
